Paige’s teeth

Insert broken record speech
about how I miss blogging,
but it’s the task that had to be put on
the back burner while I do all the things

So rewind to the end of May when Paige
lost her front teeth!

Warning: the first picture I post isn’t pretty.
I’m not going to post the pictures right after her injury,
but be prepared to scroll through the first photo
if you think you might be queazy.

We took the kids to a bounce house place
on the last day of preschool
(because Josh was off for our river trip that
we had to cancel because Texas
couldn’t catch a break with the weather.)
We were nearing the end of our time there and
Paige fell and her knee hit herself in the mouth.
Poor baby. It was so sad and traumatic and bloody.

Worth remembering: Tate didn’t realize I was in there, too,
and he took off running to try to find me. His concern
for Paige was so genuine.

So Paige went from one front tooth having the slightest
“wiggle” to both front teeth barely hanging on.

I laid down with her that night while she fell asleep.
We put a towel down knowing she would
be drooling a lot.
She wouldn’t swallow anything the rest of the day.
It was a bit dramatic, but understandable.

She was hugging tightly to “Mama Mouse.”

Sweet baby!
Two days later, she lost her first
tooth biting into a kolache at
Mimi and Pops’ house!
What a true Texan.

The next picture might be my favorite in the
whole post.

Paige gets pretty freaked out by
Santa and the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny,
so she asked me to move her tooth fairy bag to the
hallway so that she didn’t have to go in
Paige’s room.
Sure thing, little lady!
Poor baby, she lost her lost tooth.
Yep, I typed that correctly. Her tooth was in
a ziplock bag and it probably got thrown away.
Have no fear, she wrote the tooth fairy a note.

Sadly, we only got one day to enjoy Paige with
one missing tooth because her and Tate
we’re hugging/gently wrestling and
at some point Paige lost the other tooth.

We were all on our hand and knees searching the carpet
for her tooth after she sat up and said,
“Am I missing a tooth?!”

Luckily this one made it into the tooth fairy bag
and Paige was a dollar richer the next morning.

We were all laughing so hard.

She is so happy to have joined
all her friends in the missing tooth club.
