Valentine’s Day snuck up on me this year.
It’s not my favorite holiday at all,
but it’s more fun now that the kids are getting
older. I might even need to decorate
next year.
The kids each had a party at school and
they were conveniently spread out to
different days. This was both a
good thing and kind of not...
Up first was Brookie Boo...but her
Valentine’s were the last that I thought about.
Oops.
Dug up some unused play doh and
busted out the Cricut. Lucky for me,
Paige and Tate gave out the same
thing when they were younger, so
I just updated the name.
Boom.
Done.

Taters was the first to get to work on
Valentine’s Day treats.
I just knew it would take him a
little while to write his name enough times.

Paige was the only one who needed a
homemade box, so that was nice.
We had fun working on it together...over the
course of a few evenings.
These things always take longer than you think.

If you ask her, Paige’s favorite color
right now is “rainbow.”
It’s both trendy and indecisive.
Both describe Paige-so happy to
be part of the crowd, while not wanting to
exclude anyone or hurt any feelings...
including whatever color might feel left
out if not chosen as a favorite.
Night one was spent cutting strips of
paper to make her box “rainbow.”
It had a little bit more of a pride
vibe to it, so I had to figure out what would
help. We decided on the arched rainbow with
clouds...I think that was all it needed.

And because it’s Paige, she left a sweet
note for her friends to read as they
dropped in their cards.

Gosh, I love that kid.
Anyways!
Brooke had her party and loved it!
Rotten teeth and all...haha

Tate has his party that I got to attend.
We were in charge of fruit. Tate chose
watermelon (because February is basically summer?)
and the 2 of us cut it into hearts for his
little friends.
We got home and opened his goody bag
in the driveway.
Such a fun day with my little guy.

And Brooke was there, too...

Then PaigeyK signed her name (and
addressed each card to a friend)

...while wearing her favorite fuzzy backpack from Liz!

She had a lot of fun at school, too!
On Valentine’s Day, Tate was not
pleased with our lack of decorations, so
we strung the heart confettis he found at
school and made a Valentine’s Day sign
for the kitchen.

The pink and red combo didn’t quite have
the look I was going for, but it was Tate approved,
so I went with it.
While I was grabbing supplies, Taters even
snagged this photo of Brooke!

Well done, Tate!
Well done!
And I’m happy to say, valentines prep and
execution is done.
Phew!
