Anniversary

Well, Josh and I celebrated our first anniversary! We were a little last minute on deciding to go to North Carolina for a weekend getaway, but I am sooo glad we did. We had a blast.

Sorry ahead of time for the photo overload! We got the best of both worlds on this trip: a cozy cabin hideout where we were lazy and relaxed, and a road tripping, ferry taking adventure.

New Bern, NC...the cutest little town...and apparently the birthplace of Pepsi

(a restaurant photo in honor of my newest favorite little one, Chelsea)

Our quaint little cabin at the end of the dirt road

We had such a wonderful view into the cove

We stayed in Oriental, NC

I'm partial to Texas, but NC has a close 2nd on sunsets

If you know Josh and I at all, you'll get a kick out of the next few pictures. This, ladies and gentlemen, was our rental car for the weekend. I laughed every time I saw it. (I'm mad that I didn't put any effort into getting a decent photo....sorry it's blurry)

Josh rocked it pretty well if you ask me.

On Saturday we took the Yaris to the Outer Banks. It traveled many miles on pavement and jumped on 3 ferry rides. I was beyond thrilled with the scenery and stops at the lighthouses.

Cape Hatteras Lighthouse

We had some fun taking pictures with it

Bodie Island Lighthouse

Josh and I walked down the (freezing) beach for a little while. I loved my first trip to the Atlantic.

I learned that Josh is really particular about shells and their color.

We drove across so many bridges. I thought about one of my students every time-he LOVES bridges. He would have been ecstatic to see these beastly bridges.

As we were driving back, the kind NC Trooper pulled us over for our Texas-styled driving a left us with a souvenir. (rude)

It didn't stop us from enjoying our 2nd sunset of the trip

And just like that the trip was over. I'm one lucky girl to be married to a kind, hard working, loving man. It's been a beautiful year...I cannot wait to see where this life takes us.
