paige on a perch

After Tate's haircut and little
headshots, Paige wanted in on the action.
The headshot action, not the haircut...
though she did have a haircut a few days later.

My big    s i x    year old.
How is that possible?!

Quarantine hair, don't care.

A smile without her teeth...
aka Josh as a little kid.

Sitting up and ready to squeal.

...yep, there it is!

This is my current favorite picture of this kid.
She has a big, radiant, happy personality and
you can just feel it in this picture.

Also worth noting
(for my memory down the road)
Paige currently sleeps in real clothes.
It hurts me to watch her put on jean shorts after
her bath. She says it's comfy...
And it's cut back on some laundry since she'll just
wear those clothes the next day.

Note to self: get this girl some pj sets with shorts.
I can't watch this jean thing continue!

quarantine haircut

Bless his heart, he is back to
"at home haircuts."

Ummm...are you people sure about this?

This didn't seem to end well in the past.

But there's a shark on the roof, so all is well.

Completely regretting this situation.

...things are looking up.

...momentarily...

Isn't Josh looking like a real pro here?

Final product.
Not terrible.
Not great.
But honestly about as good as
haircuts we have been paying for lately.

There miiiiight have been an little incident.

He bounced back and healed up real nice.
(poor lil fella)

random tidbits

Getting in bed and wishing I
had a quick little blog to post...
but only a few random pictures from
my Nikon are on my phone and
the phone pictures are so
sporadic and sprinkled with homeschooling.

So, here I sit.
I really do have plans to get back into
working through my computer iPhoto.

One day, y’all.

I will be grateful
(and I am grateful)
for the time I spend on this little corner
of the internet.
Little blurbs of our life to look
back at whenever we feel like it.

We’re still quarantined,
but I don’t think the kids mind.

They’re enjoying a lot of this:

And this:

And this:

And this:

I’m enjoying it, too.
For the most part.

Just working on manners and not
having kids demanding things from
me all at the same time...
aka teaching them what they can
do for themselves, what can wait, and
what isn’t respectful to demand of me.

It’ll probably never happen, but one can dream.

fan hair, don't care

These are just too great!

This is the epitome of Brooke-
working the crowd with a sly little expression and
soaking up all the laughter she's creating.

She's quietly hilarious.

We've entered the "fan on the driveway" portion of the year.
It's hot, y'all.

The kids also love dropping toys in front of the fan to see
what falls and what flies away.

So basically its science.

Knocking this homeschooling thing out of the park.
Jk...but we are still doing pretty good with actual lessons.

little treehouse

My favorite part about quarantine is
long, slow weekends.

Bring on the projects!
The fun projects!

Now's the time to utilize Pinterest for what it is...
a platform of creative ideas to do, not just to pin.

So I give you...our little treehouse.

The big kids even got a chance at one of Josh's saws.
Paige is concentrating so hard.

Josh is the real MVP here.
He's always (usually) up for bringing these ideas to life.

The piece she cut...
what would become part of the staircase.

Taters' turn!

He was a little unsure.

Here's the final product!
We're calling it "the treehouse."

We went on a family walk to find the perfect
stick to be the main support.
It needed to branch out just the right amount.

It's basically an outdoor dollhouse for Brooke.

This girl (and her judgy scowl) can play with
figurines and dollhouses endlessly.
I love it.

lizard rides

This boy.
His love for lizards
(and all little creatures)
seems to be growing exponentially these last few weeks.

Lets just say he now takes them for rides on his bike.

Well, his tricycle...he can ride it faster on the driveway.
This Radio Flyer is on it's 4th kid.
(5th if you count Brooke who rides it, too)
The boys I babysat handed it down to us.
I've pretty much been watching kids play on it for a
good 10ish years.

That's a quality toy.

Around and around they go.

I really need to video his excitement over all of this.
It's daily.
We even know which lizards he's caught too many times.
They typically have missing tails.
Poor kid just loves them too hard.

Such a proud lizard keeper.
